421 A Street
One of downtown Idaho Falls’ most recognizable buildings, the Odd Fellows at 421 A Street was built in 1909 for the very active, very interesting Idaho Falls lodge of Independent Order of Odd Fellows. This was The BOSS Group’s first downtown project, and you always remember your first. The building required serious gutting but also a soft touch to save original features like basement brick, basalt walls, original floors, and an old boiler plate. And oh, the history of this place! With seven tunnels leading from the basement to elsewhere downtown, it’s clear the Odd Fellows was designed for covert and salacious activities indeed. As the only remaining example of Romanesque Revival exterior detailing downtown, it’s a history worth saving.
Once completed, the Odd Fellows will be home to an upscale restaurant on the main floor with a swanky basement bar. Five office suites will be available upstairs, boasting some of the best downtown views.
